John Gillam to become Nufarm Chairman

SYDNEY: The Nufarm Board of Directors announced the appointment of John Gillam to succeed Donald McGauchie AO as Chairman.

Mr Gillam will join the Board on 31 July 2020 and assume the role of Chairman on 24 September 2020 following Mr McGauchie’s retirement as Chairman and Non-executive Director, which was previously advised at the company’s 2019 Annual General Meeting.

Mr Gillam has a track record of delivering strong outcomes through his 20-year career with Wesfarmers where he held a number of senior leadership roles including CEO of the Bunnings Group, Managing Director of CSBP and Chairman of Officeworks.

Mr Gillam’s experience as a Non-executive Director includes his role as Chairman of CSR Limited.

Mr McGauchie, said, “It has been an honour to serve shareholders on the Nufarm Board for the past 17 years and as Chairman for the past 10 years. I am pleased to be succeeded by John and know he will do an outstanding job.”

Mr Gillam said, “Nufarm is a proud Australian company with strong customer standing and a growing market relevance in its chosen international markets. I am looking forward to leading the Board and working with the management team to further strengthen its market position and improve returns for shareholders.”
