LONDON: Oxford Metrics plc, a smart sensing and measurement technology group, has appointed Stefan Lampa as chief executive officer and a director of the company, effective early December 2026.

Lampa will succeed Imogen O’Connor, who has stepped down from the CEO role and the board with immediate effect due to health reasons, a statement said. Gary Bullard, non-executive chair, will serve as interim CEO until Lampa’s appointment takes effect.

O’Connor will remain available to support the group on certain key projects and ensure an orderly transition through the end of 2026, and will continue to consult on an ad hoc basis thereafter.

Lampa brings extensive international leadership experience in robotics, automation and industrial technology. He most recently served as CEO of ProGlove, a provider of smart wearable scanner solutions, where he led a shift toward software, data and AI-enabled offerings and transitioned the business model from capital expenditure sales to a software-as-a-service model, resulting in improved profitability and 30% annual revenue growth.

Previously, Lampa held senior roles at Cargotec, KUKA Robotics and ABB Robotics, including president of Kalmar, CEO of KUKA Robotics and global head of robots and applications at ABB Robotics.

The board said Lampa’s background aligns with growth opportunities for Oxford Metrics’ sensing, software and data capabilities across robotics, simulation, sport, healthcare and AI-enabled applications. The group’s businesses include Vicon, its global motion capture unit, and a vision metrology division.

Lampa’s appointment is subject to completion of regulatory due diligence and obtaining the right to work in the U.K. A further announcement is expected.
