Australia's Mount Ridley Mines appoints Allister Caird as CEO

PERTH – Australian exploration company Mount Ridley Mines Ltd said on Thursday it has appointed Allister Caird as its chief executive officer, effective immediately, to lead the development of its rare earth and critical minerals projects.

Caird, a geologist with over 15 years of experience, joins from Locksley Resources Ltd, where he was head of critical minerals and was instrumental in forging a key collaboration with Rice University in the United States.

His appointment strengthens Mount Ridley’s technical and strategic capabilities as it seeks to advance its portfolio in the Esperance region of Western Australia, the company said in a statement.

“His technical background, combined with a strong understanding of global critical minerals markets and downstream opportunities, will be instrumental,” said Mount Ridley Chairman Peter Christie.

The company said Caird’s global network would enhance its ability to engage with government, institutional, and industry stakeholders to secure funding and partnerships.

According to an appendix to the announcement, Caird’s remuneration includes a base salary of A$275,000 per annum and 20 million performance rights, which vest if the company’s share price reaches certain milestones.

Mount Ridley Mines Ltd is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange under the ticker “MRD”.
