SYDNEY: Saunders International Ltd. (ASX:SND) has named Angelo De Angelis as its new managing director and chief executive officer, effective Oct. 1, 2025, following the planned departure of current CEO Mark Benson.
De Angelis, who has served as chief operating officer since 2021, will assume the top role after a transition period during which Benson will remain as executive director until the end of the year. Benson will continue supporting the company through 2026.
Chairman Nick Yates said De Angelis had been “instrumental in the transformation and growth” of the company, citing his leadership in expanding Saunders’ engineering and construction capabilities and strengthening its market pipeline.
“Angelo has demonstrated strong leadership and strategic insight,” Yates said. “We are confident he will continue to drive the company’s strategy and deliver long-term value for our shareholders.”
De Angelis brings more than 30 years of experience across Australia, the Indo-Pacific and North America, having held senior roles at Transfield Services and Ventia. His appointment follows a comprehensive search process that considered both internal and external candidates.
Benson, who led Saunders for over a decade, expressed pride in the company’s achievements and confidence in De Angelis’ leadership.
“It has been a privilege to lead Saunders,” Benson said. “Angelo has played a pivotal role in shaping who we are today.”
De Angelis said he was honored to take on the role and looked forward to leading the company into its next phase of growth.
“Saunders has a proud history and an exciting pipeline of opportunities,” he said. “I look forward to continuing to deliver value for our shareholders and customers.”
De Angelis’ compensation package includes a total fixed remuneration of AUD 600,000 annually, with performance-based short- and long-term incentives. He currently holds 95,658 ordinary shares, 416,335 performance rights, and 152,640 share options in Saunders.
