Objective Corporation acquires Isovist

SYDNEY: Objective Corporation (ASX:OCL), a leading provider of GovTech software, announced today it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Isovist, a specialist in GIS-based e-planning solutions for local governments in Australia and New Zealand.

The acquisition, valued at NZ$5 million, aims to enhance Objective’s capabilities in the planning and building sector while accelerating digital transformation for councils.

Isovist’s flagship product streamlines urban planning by replacing static documents with dynamic digital tools. Its platform links property sites directly to local planning regulations, enabling councils, developers, and property owners to quickly assess compliance. Over 50 councils across Australia and New Zealand currently use Isovist’s software, praised for its intuitive design and rapid implementation.

“This acquisition aligns with our mission to build stronger communities through innovative technology,” said Tony Walls, CEO of Objective. “Isovist’s expertise in planning solutions complements our existing offerings, and together, we can deliver even greater value to local governments.”

The deal includes an upfront payment of NZ$4.25 million, with NZ$0.75 million deferred over two years. Isovist, which has been profitable since 2022, reported annual recurring revenue of NZ$2.2 million as of June 30, 2025. All Isovist employees will join Objective following the acquisition.

Objective plans to integrate its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities into Isovist’s platform to further automate planning approvals. “High-quality data drives high-quality AI outcomes,” Walls noted. “By combining Isovist’s contextual planning insights with our AI, we can make development consent processes faster and more reliable.”

Mark Burston, Isovist’s managing director, expressed optimism about the merger: “Objective’s investment in innovation will help us expand our product’s capabilities and better serve our customers.”

Isovist will continue operating under its current structure, with no immediate changes for customers. Objective emphasized a focus on seamless integration, prioritizing staff and customer support before rolling out long-term product enhancements.

Isovist: Founded over a decade ago, Isovist provides award-winning e-planning software tailored for local governments.

Objective Corporation: A leader in digital solutions for the public sector, Objective helps governments operate efficiently with secure, governance-compliant software.
