Nvidia is gearing up to unveil its much-awaited RTX 5060 desktop graphics card. But that’s not the only new GPU in the pipeline.

Reports suggest that two mobile versions—the RTX 5050 and RTX 5060 for laptops—will be announced within the next two weeks. Press materials from leading laptop manufacturers such as Lenovo, LG, and Razer provide strong evidence of their imminent arrival.

Lenovo recently showcased an IdeaPad Pro 5 featuring the RTX 5050 in an unboxing video, while LG has confirmed that its upcoming Gram Pro laptop will include this GPU, making it available for pre-order in Q2 2025. Meanwhile, Razer’s latest Blade 16 will be equipped with an RTX 5060 mobile GPU.

Gamers are eagerly anticipating the performance of the new RTX 5060 desktop model. However, early rumors suggest the mobile variants, RTX 5050 and 5060, will come with 8GB of VRAM—raising concerns about their ability to handle the increasing memory demands of modern games.

Nvidia is reportedly using older, cost-effective technology for the lower-end version, with speculation indicating that the RTX 5050 may rely on GDDR6 memory rather than the more advanced GDDR7 seen in other Blackwell-series graphics cards. This has led to questions regarding the performance of laptops featuring the RTX 5050, particularly for budget-conscious gamers seeking affordable gaming options.

Despite these exciting developments, availability remains a concern. Techradar reports that Nvidia’s RTX 50 series graphics cards have been plagued by widespread supply shortages since their initial release in March. As the mobile GPUs near launch, Nvidia must ensure a stable supply to meet the high demand from gamers looking for cost-effective gaming laptops. Pricing is another key issue, as the Blackwell-series desktop GPUs have been priced notably higher than their predecessors—without offering a major leap in performance.
