Oshkosh Corporation, a leading maker of purpose-built vehicles and equipment, has announced its investment in Eatron Technologies, a developer of intelligent software for batteries. The investment supports Oshkosh’s vision to use advanced analytics and predictive modeling for its electric vehicles.
Eatron’s software adds a smart layer on top of existing battery control platforms, enabling accurate and reliable predictions about the battery’s state, health and operation. The software can be hosted on the cloud or on the edge, and combines models of the battery with artificial intelligence and advanced estimation methods.
Oshkosh’s president and CEO, John Pfeifer, said that the investment is part of their broader strategy to collaborate with advanced technology companies to bring innovation to their customers. He added that AI-enabled battery management software aligns with their electrification and advanced analytics focus areas, and will enhance the safety and performance of their EV product line.
Eatron’s founder and CEO, Dr. Umut Genc, said that the funding from Oshkosh will help them develop and deploy new features for their unique software platform.
