CDISC, the global nonprofit organization that creates and advances data standards for clinical research, has announced that Chris Decker will be its new President and CEO, effective January 2, 2024. He will succeed Dave Evans, who is retiring after leading CDISC for several years.
Decker is a well-known technology and standards expert, with years of experience in software development, clinical research, and consulting. He joins CDISC from Instem (d-wise), where he was the Vice President of Clinical Solutions. He has been involved with CDISC for 20 years, as a volunteer, an implementer, and a board member. He was also a founding member of the FDA/PHUSE Computational Science collaboration.
Decker said he is excited to lead CDISC in the next phase of its journey to advance clinical research standards and drive digital transformation. He praised Evans and the CDISC team for setting the foundation for change and expressed his eagerness to work with the global user community.
Evans and Erik Pulkstenis, the current chairperson of the CDISC board of directors, welcomed Decker to the helm of CDISC and thanked him for his passion and expertise. They also highlighted CDISC’s impact on the scientific community and its role in enabling data accessibility, interoperability, and reusability.
