SALT LAKE CITY – ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA), a provider of enterprise technology solutions, announced Monday it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a well-established commercial surveying and 3D mapping company based in Utah.

The acquisition marks ZenaTech’s strategic entry into the rapidly expanding solar infrastructure market. The Utah firm specializes in LiDAR processing, drone-enabled data capture, and serves large-scale solar development clients.

“Entering the commercial solar development and maintenance sector is a significant milestone for ZenaTech,” said Shaun Passley, Ph.D., CEO of ZenaTech. “Solar infrastructure requires high-precision surveying and rapid data strategy. This acquisition immediately incorporates these capabilities into our Drone-as-a-Service platform and expands us into this untapped market.”

The target company brings proven expertise in operational drone technology for surveying and data processing on large commercial solar projects. Its capabilities in LiDAR scanning, 3D mapping, and drone-integrated workflows support high-fidelity terrain mapping, site planning, and virtual project visualization for major solar developers nationwide.

According to market research firm Grand View Horizon, the North American solar energy systems market is growing at more than 15% annually. Despite this rapid expansion, many solar developers still rely heavily on manual surveying and traditional site assessment methods, creating opportunities for drone-based automation to reduce costs and accelerate project timelines.

This acquisition is the twelfth for ZenaTech in the U.S. as part of its goal to establish 25 Drone-as-a-Service (DaaS) locations by the end of the second quarter of 2026. The DaaS model provides enterprise and government clients with flexible, on-demand access to drone services for surveying, inspection, and maintenance without the capital costs of ownership.

ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) is a technology company specializing in AI-powered drones, Drone-as-a-Service (DaaS), enterprise SaaS, and quantum computing solutions. The company operates through offices in North America, Europe, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates.
