SYDNEY: European Lithium Ltd. said Tuesday that Critical Metals Corp. has acquired a fully integrated mobile geochemical analysis laboratory to advance its Tanbreez rare earths project in Greenland.
The $1 million facility, ordered from Bromet, will allow on-site laboratory-grade analysis of rare earth elements in less than 80 minutes using a Bruker M4 Tornado Plus 26S Micro XRF system. The company said the mobile lab is designed to reduce reliance on off-site laboratories, cut transport delays, and improve operational efficiency.
Critical Metals plans to operate the facility with trained Greenlandic personnel, with results validated by an independent third party. The modular units include automated sample preparation and a climate-controlled XRF laboratory, configured for Greenlandic conditions.
Chairman Tony Sage called the acquisition “a transformative milestone” as the Tanbreez project moves from exploration into pilot operations. He said the lab will accelerate data collection, sharpen real-time decision-making, and strengthen assessment of the project’s scalability.
European Lithium holds a 44.98% stake in Critical Metals, valued at about $782.8 million based on the Nasdaq-listed company’s Jan. 13 closing price of $14.76 per share.
The Tanbreez deposit in southern Greenland is considered one of the world’s largest rare earth resources, with year-round shipping access via deepwater fjords.
