ANAHEIM – Willdan Group Inc (WLDN.O) said on Monday its subsidiary, Willdan Financial Services, has agreed to acquire Compass Municipal Advisors LLC, a move that expands its geographic footprint and consulting services for public agencies.
The acquisition of the Southeastern U.S.-based firm is expected to close on January 1, 2026, subject to standard closing conditions, Willdan said in a statement. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Compass, headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina, advises public agencies on financial planning and debt issuance for infrastructure projects. The firm will enhance Willdan’s ability to serve government clients facing challenges from aging public works to population growth.
“For over a decade, we’ve assisted local governments in making informed financial decisions which strengthen their communities,” said Brian Nurick, Compass Senior Managing Director. “Partnering with Willdan increases our resources and expands our ability to deliver that same trusted, guidance on a broader scale.”
Willdan, which provides technical and consulting services to utilities and government bodies, said the deal aligns with its growth strategy.
“We are pleased to welcome the Compass team to Willdan, where we share a commitment to improving communities,” said Mike Bieber, Willdan’s Chief Executive Officer. “Compass’s talented team complements Willdan’s financial and technical expertise while expanding our geographic reach.”
