MOUNTAIN VILLAGE: The Weitz Company, a U.S. subsidiary of Orascom Construction PLC, has begun construction on the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Telluride, a landmark luxury development in Colorado’s renowned ski destination, the company announced on Monday.

The project, located on the last remaining snow-front site in the Town of Mountain Village, will be the first new luxury hotel and residential development in the Telluride area in over 15 years. It aims to set a new benchmark for alpine destinations in the San Juan Mountains.

The 532,000-square-foot development will include 52 luxury hotel rooms, 43 hotel residences, and 26 private residences. Amenities are designed for a high-end experience, featuring ski-in/ski-out access, a state-of-the-art fitness center and spa, a private residents’ club, and a signature five-star restaurant.

“We are honored to partner with developers Fort Partners and Merrimac Ventures to bring their vision to life,” said Kevin McClain, CEO & President of The Weitz Company, highlighting the project as a “once-in-a-generation opportunity.”

The development strengthens Orascom Construction’s global portfolio in the luxury hospitality sector, building on its landmark projects in the Mediterranean and Middle East and Africa regions. Weitz, acquired by Orascom in 2012, brings over 75 years of experience in Colorado construction to the project.
