CAMBRIDGE: Frontier Developments plc, a video game developer and publisher, announced Thursday it has entered an agreement with Disney to develop and publish a new game using Disney’s portfolio of intellectual property.

The game will be fully funded by Frontier and will build on the company’s experience in the creative management simulation genre, which includes its Planet Coaster, Planet Zoo and Jurassic World Evolution franchises. Frontier also has an unannounced Planet game currently in development.

“We are delighted to announce this collaboration with Disney, which further reinforces our clearly defined strategy of developing and nurturing world-class creative management simulation game franchises,” Jo Cooke, chief executive officer of Frontier Developments, said in a statement.

Cooke said the game’s mission is to connect a creative community of players with one of the world’s most iconic brands.

Frontier Developments is based in Cambridge and specializes in creative management simulation experiences. The company uses its proprietary COBRA technology to develop its games.

The company’s strategy focuses on long-term growth through player engagement, back-catalogue performance and a pipeline of new games, according to the announcement.

Frontier Developments trades on London’s AIM market under the ticker FDEV.
