Jyske Bank acquires Formuepleje in DKK 40bn wealth management deal

AARHUS: Jyske Bank A/S has signed a binding agreement to acquire 100% of FP Kapital A/S, the parent company of Formuepleje, one of Denmark’s largest independent wealth managers.

The deal, which is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, will bring approximately 14,000 investors, DKK 40 billion in assets under management, and nearly 100 employees under the Jyske Bank umbrella.

Formuepleje, which has a strong footprint in and around Aarhus and Copenhagen, will bolster Jyske Bank’s ambitions to accelerate growth in wealth management. The acquisition also reinforces the bank’s standing among affluent clients—a segment where Jyske Bank’s private banking customers have ranked as Denmark’s most satisfied for 11 consecutive years.

“Through the acquisition, Jyske Bank aims to build on Formuepleje’s strong advisory model, customer relationships and highly skilled employees,” said Lars Mørch, CEO of Jyske Bank. “Our ambition is to further develop Formuepleje’s business and customer offering based on the company’s existing strengths. At the same time, Formuepleje will gain access to Jyske Bank’s scale benefits, platform and capabilities within asset and wealth management.”

Mørch added that the deal creates opportunities to complement Jyske Bank’s product range in alternative investments such as real estate and private equity, while giving Formuepleje’s clients access to the bank’s broader advisory services.

Financially, the acquisition is projected to generate annual net fee income of just over DKK 0.2 billion and is expected to be earnings-per-share (EPS) accretive from 2028. Integration costs are estimated at around DKK 0.1 billion, while net capital consumption is expected to be close to 0.1% of the bank’s risk exposure amount.

Jyske Bank has kept its 2026 earnings-per-share forecast unchanged at DKK 71–85, corresponding to a net profit of DKK 4.3 billion to 5.1 billion.

Completion of the transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. The bank anticipates finalizing the purchase during the fourth quarter of this year.
