SYDNEY: Proteomics International Laboratories Ltd (ASX: PIQ) announced on Wednesday the appointment of David Morris as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, effective January 19, 2026. Morris succeeds founder Dr. Richard Lipscombe, who will retire in February after 25 years leading the precision diagnostics company.
Morris, a veteran healthcare and medical technology executive, has held leadership roles at Cochlear, Nanosonics, Polynovo, and Monash IVF. He brings expertise in global market expansion, regulatory strategy, and product commercialization—key priorities for Proteomics International as it seeks to scale its Promarker® diagnostic pipeline.
“I am excited to be appointed CEO at such a pivotal stage in the Company’s evolution,” Morris said in a statement. “The Promarker® technology platform has the potential to transform disease prediction and management globally.”
Chairman Dr. James Williams said Morris’s commercial experience in medical technology would help translate innovative science into market-ready solutions. “With the Company now firmly focused on commercialisation of the Promarker® pipeline, David is exceptionally well placed to lead our next phase of growth,” Williams said.
The company also confirmed Morris’s remuneration package, which includes a fixed annual salary of A$450,000, eligibility for short-term incentives up to 50% of remuneration, and long-term incentives comprising options and performance rights subject to shareholder approval.
Lipscombe, who founded the Perth-based proteomics firm, will remain through a transition period until his formal retirement on February 23, 2026. Williams acknowledged Lipscombe’s “outstanding contribution” in establishing the company as a leader in precision diagnostics.
Proteomics International specializes in proteomics—the large-scale study of proteins—and develops diagnostic tools aimed at improving disease treatment and patient outcomes.
