TAMPA: Financial automation firm Gravity said on Thursday it has acquired grants management software provider Cityspan, a move that expands its product portfolio as it builds an all-in-one financial operations platform for government clients.
The deal, terms of which were not disclosed, combines Gravity’s core disclosure and budgeting automation with Cityspan’s cloud-based systems for managing grants and measuring program performance. Gravity is one of the fastest-growing companies in its sector in North America.
The acquisition is the latest by Gravity as it seeks to create a connected ecosystem for public sector financial management. It follows the recent purchase of community engagement platform coUrbanize and the launch of new AI-powered disclosure tools.
“This acquisition represents a major step forward in our mission to provide governments with a comprehensive, connected financial management platform,” Gravity Chief Executive Tyler Davey said in a statement.
“By integrating their capabilities, we’re enabling governments to manage the entire financial lifecycle – from grants and budgets to disclosures and community engagement – all in one place.”
For government customers, the combined company aims to simplify complex compliance, improve audit readiness, and save staff time by centralizing financial workflows that are often managed across disparate systems.
Cityspan’s technology, which supports grant applications, contracting, and performance tracking for both grantors and grantees, will be integrated into Gravity’s tech stack by mid-2026, the company said. The integrated platform will also support Gravity’s upcoming lease and debt management solutions.
Mark Min, CEO of Cityspan, said the integration would extend the companies’ “shared commitment to open, accountable government.”
The entire Cityspan team will join Gravity, bringing their expertise in grants management to the combined entity. The move signals a continued industry shift towards consolidated software platforms that can handle the specialized and interconnected financial tasks of public agencies.
