Starlink Pakistan,

Pakistan has granted a provisional license to Starlink, marking a significant step toward the satellite internet provider’s official launch in the country, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Chairman Hafeez Ur Rehman announced Monday.

Rehman told reporters that the licensing process consists of multiple regulatory stages. Starlink has already registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and the Space Regulatory Authority, with final approval expected once all necessary procedures are completed.

Federal Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima said Starlink was initially given until June to meet regulatory requirements but has now been asked to complete the process by May.

Fatima also noted that discussions on Starlink’s pricing model are underway. Meanwhile, some Chinese firms have submitted applications for operational licenses. Final approval for Starlink is anticipated soon, with public access expected by November or December.

Owned by SpaceX, Starlink offers satellite-based internet services worldwide, providing high-speed connectivity to remote and underserved regions. Its expansion into Pakistan aims to enhance digital infrastructure and bridge connectivity gaps in areas with limited broadband access.
