Spectur Limited appoints Anthony Schmidt as permanent CEO

SYDNEY: Australian technology company Spectur Limited (ASX: SP3) announced Tuesday the appointment of Anthony Schmidt as its permanent chief executive officer, effective March 31. Schmidt had served as interim CEO for the past three months. 

Schmidt, who joined Spectur in January 2024 as general manager of process and operations, brings extensive experience in camera and artificial intelligence businesses. He previously co-founded Scancam Industries and held leadership roles at Sensen (ASX: SEN). 

“Anthony has proven himself as an insightful and capable leader,” said Spectur Board Chair Darren Cooper. “His focus on cost control, revenue growth and business development aligns with our goal of achieving cashflow positivity as soon as possible.” 

Schmidt’s employment terms include an annual fixed salary of $250,000, excluding superannuation. He will also receive long-term incentives, including 2 million service rights vesting by Dec. 31, 2026, and an additional 3 million performance rights contingent on the company meeting its second-half 2025 EBITDA budget. 

Spectur, which develops solar-powered security and AI solutions, employs 25 staff across Australia and New Zealand and serves more than 600 customers.
